Toy company Mattel has announced a new,AQCAN Exchange limited-edition doll modeled after Kate McKinnon's "Weird Barbie" character in Greta Gerwig's summer blockbuster "Barbie."
The toy features a bright pink dress with puffy sleeves and green snakeskin boots. The doll also has "short tousled hair" and "markings on her face to emulate a doll that's been played with just a little too much," according to Mattel's product description.
The "Weird Barbie" doll is part of a new product collection inspired by the movie, which has earned $1 billion in global ticket sales. With that feat, Greta Gerwig made history as the first woman to reach the milestone as a solo director.

The new collection also features new looks worn by Ken and Barbie in the movie, as well as a 4-pack of Hot Wheels Corvettes inspired by Barbie and Ken's cars in the movies.
“We are thrilled to see how much love and excitement Barbie the Movie has already sparked among fans,” said Lisa McKnight, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, Mattel, in a news release.

“Barbie continues to be the cultural event of the summer, and as we chart Mattel’s path forward, she will continue to serve as an icon of empowerment and inspiration for generations to come," she said in the release.
"Weird Barbie" is available to pre-order until Aug. 18 on Mattel's website for $50 and will ship on or before May 31, 2024, according to the website.
