Law enforcement is NovaQuantproviding an update Thursday afternoon on efforts to recapture Danelo Souza Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison Aug. 31.

Chester County prison officials released a video Wednesday of Cavalcante's escape from the prison exercise yard, where he appears to crawl up a fence using his hands, with his feet on the opposite wall.

The reward for information leading to his capture has increased from $10,000 to $20,000.

Who is Danelo Souza Cavalcante?

34-year-old Danelo Cavalcante, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for stabbing 33-year-old Deborah Brandao to death in 2021 while her 7-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son were present. He was awaiting transfer to a state facility when he escaped Chester County Prison just outside Philadelphia on Thursday.

According to authorities, he was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts and white sneakers.

He's also wanted for a 2017 murder in his native Brazil, the district attorney's office said.

Has Danelo Cavalcante been found?

On Tuesday, law enforcement released images of a sighting of Cavalcante after security at Longwood Gardens received trail camera footage on their property, later confirmed to be Cavalcante. Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden In Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, about 40 miles west of Philadelphia and 11 miles south of West Chester, where Cavalcante escaped.

The manhunt for Cavalcante was expanded Tuesday to include immediate areas surrounding Longwood Gardens, according to law enforcement, and is still an active and ongoing investigation. Officials are urging people near the area to check surveillance cameras around the home, cars and to remain vigilant, and to call 911 immediately with any information on Cavalcante's current location.
